Meet the Team
Dr Sarisha Govender
Born and raised on the sunny coast of Durban, Dr Govender was then offered the opportunity to study her Bachelor’s degree in Dentistry on the opposite coast, at the University of the Western Cape. She received both her BChD and PDD in aesthetic dentistry at the University of the Western Cape. She was a dentist at 2 Field Engineering Regiment military bases during her community service year. Dr Govender is registered with The Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA), and is a member of the South African Dental Association (SADA). She completes many hours in continuing education each year to ensure that patients receive the most advanced treatment with the latest techniques. She not only loves her job but establishes long lasting relationships with her patients as well. Her hobbies include cooking, baking, sewing, mosaic … basically anything that she can get her hands on!
Friendly, customer service oriented and compassionate person. Melissa is the primary liaison between our practice, patients and guests. She ensures our patients feel welcome and comfortable. Melissa has completed both Mediswitch and Solumed training courses and is very knowledgeable in dentistry. In her spare time, Melissa enjoys photography, visiting game reserves and dancing (danced for 18 years at Visions Dance Academy).
Carlen Angelique Smith
I was born in Namibia and raised in Cape Town and Elsburg. I qualified as a dental assistant in 1993 in government and worked as a dental assistant for 22 years. I enjoy my work and love working with and meeting new people on a daily basis. In my spare time I help out at the SPCA and help learners with language problems prepare for exams.
I am a mother of three and a granny to seven wonderful grandchildren, ranging in age from one to 20 years. I love to interact with people, reading, watching movies. I love to listen to live music especially when they play the "old" songs, and I love to dance. I have worked for fifty years and feel so blessed to have obtained this position with Dr Govender.
